"Tech Priest Dominus" | Games Workshop | 28mm

Post by tigrazor »

Good evening!

The decision has been made - the new small figure project on my bench will be the GW Tech Priest Dominus. The kit itself leaves it up to you which weapon and head you use (two options each), and of course - typical for GW figures - the weapons have to be drilled. Piece of cake.

The only negative thing (because its clearly visible if you dont take care about!) is the connection of the front part of his cape. It consists of three parts and leaves big gaps. A mixture of thin CA glue and MrSurfacer helped here.

Whats to say about the base? Its a small one, on which I glued some cog wheels and spare GW Adeptus Mechanicus parts. Its at this moment a sketch only - the flashes and connections will disappear later in the working progress of course. Looks very technical - and thats supposed to be it.

Any suggestions? Please tell me, so I can take care about.

Thanks for watching - have a nice evening!

Lucas.

Tech priests look awesome in darker colours (Copper, bronze, maroon etc) So keen for this one.
You can learn all the math in the 'Verse, but you take a boat in the air that you don't love, she'll shake you off just as sure as the turning of the worlds. Love keeps her in the air when she oughta fall down, tells you she's hurtin' 'fore she keens. Makes her a home.

Hehehe, yes theyre pretty awesome. I decided for a copper tone. Very steampunkish and it even fits the base. ;)

>Humbrol Bronze (or is it copper?!) - No. 54
>Agrax Earthshade washing
>big cog wheel: silver + Tamiya Clear Yellow + Agrax Earthshade

The yellow ink over silver is something I copied from a plane modeller when he did a WW1 plane. Very simple AND convincing method for bright golden parts!

Just found this one, Lucas. My eyes have trouble to focus on all the amazing detail of this figure! For some seconds I even wondered from which tank kit this drive sprocket is from!

The final piece is: :shoutout: You have such a talent to combine colours, shades, rats! into a master piece!
