That is some awe inspiring work! It is hard enough to fix what we call normal seams. This is on a whole other level. A marvelous piece of work!
To make each build less crappy than the last one. Or, put another way, "Better than the last one, not as good as the next one!"..

Thanks very much, Lyle! There was definitely a learning curve. I started with the smallest limb, his bent leg, to figure out what the best approach was going to be. I learned: (a) Don’t liquify the putty or use any putty which is very liquid such as bottled Mr Surfacer which I purchased specifically to use on this project); (b) Backfill and build supports with large bolts, screws and copious amounts of Milliput inside the forms; (c) Use “hot” plastic cement to melt the edges of each seam.
Despite Atlantis being careful with the molds, the seams along the sides of his body and his arms suffered from loss of detail, soft to nonexistent detail, which I split the difference building back. Those areas are still being adjusted. If I went too light with the carving and details, then these areas did not match the original areas, so I made pretty deep furrows (in modeling terms). These cuts tend to look close enough to the deeper ones to lead the eye around the form.

Brush work on Kong!
Check out THE ARMY PAINTER. Forget the critics on the internet. Cheap as chips and brushes on with a silken glaze; their “Strong Tone” is a secret weapon. Cleans up with water.
Brush: No. 4 round sable.

Looking real good Bruce!
