A new members builds

Post by Dragline »

Just a couple of older things I've built over the years. I threw a car in for giggles. Lots more to show but I don't want to overwhelm on my first day here.
Comments, good or ill always accepted.

Whoa... nice!
What is the auto kit? I really like that finish.

That car is the Monogram 1931 Rolls Royce Coupe. It is painted with Duplicolor Dark Toreador Red. Mr Hobby clear polished with 3M and Mequires products.

Right! Forgot about that. I had a friend that was a Frank Frezetta fan but not a Molly Hatchet fan. He actually had a nice Death Dealer print.
Thanks,
John

Dragline, welcome to the forum. Would you give a little more information on the figure work? There’s some truly beautiful and delicate and bold painting work. I would love to learn more. The last time I did a figure was likewise years ago (2012,13?) of Batman by Moebius Models with a resin face sculpt that was really great. I would love to learn more about how you paint, for example, and see a few more images, as well.

There a lot of tutorials on Youtube that I learned from. I did have a desire to do a step by step of how I approach figure painting. I might do one if there is enough interest and i guess if one is interested that's good enough for me.

Look for something soon.

Yes, make a video. And also feel free to overwhelm. There’s a lot of magic in figure painting work and more is always appreciated, but not required! Only if you want to show, then show. I’m thinking of what Tarentino says, “You can never be too big for the set,” and your work has that special quality, call it magic because that’s how it feels; and feel free to overwhelm.
