Addar Apollo - Soyez Resto rebuild.

Post by BlackSheep214 »

As I had already mentioned I'm looking to restore an oldies Super Scenes Apollo - Soyez kit. Last night, I started dismantling the kit. Here's the results:

Image

The bottle was taped with invisible tape yet it is a Snap together bottle. I probably used tape to securely hold it together instead of using tube glue. Good thinking... :giggles:

Next will be looking for some replacement decals. I'll need both flags, lettering for "United States" and "CCCP"

The flags are 3/16 x 3/8 inch each, United States lettering are about 1/16 height, CCCP are 1/8 inch height.
Those are going to be a challenge to find. If anyone has spare decals in those sizes, I'll take them.

The background insert poster shouldn't be an issue for me. I can find suitable images online and print them off.

What scale would you say these are? I may be able to find some, I know a site that does decals for real space craft.

Great project. I don't think I ever saw this kit. Maybe poke around 1/16 figure decals. I'm pretty sure I saw flag should badges - may work.
Thanks,
John

Anyways interesting to see real space kits being built. Do you have access to a vinyl cutter to make some custom paint masks?

Looking in Scalemates, they are 1/160 scale.
