The SPAM Israeli Defence/Air Force Mini GB

Post by Stuart »

Hi All,

If you didn't know, this year is the 70th anniversary of the creation of Israel. So If anyone fancies joining us - The Duke and I are having a mini IDF/IAF GB to mark this.

Any subject, any scale - just so long as it was operated by Israelis.

Cheers!

Thanks for setting this up Stuart. I'll get started on mine soon, possibly today.

Stay tuned!

:hmm:

Of course I need to volunteer for another GB like I need to volunteer for another hole in my head... :headslap:

Yeah, I feel the same way; but if it's something I really enjoy and I'm really into, then I am willing to jump right in. Don't worry Carlos; you have a lot on your plate already so just take your time finishing up other things.

Mike, I'm looking forward to seeing your projects here.

Hey Guys,

So here's my first entry into the GB - Israel's first Fighter - the Avia S-199 'Knife'.

This is by far and away my favourite box art to date - I just love that image. I don't know a lot about the kit inside, I just bought it for that bit of art work. It's such a mean looking aircraft.

Here are some shots from the box!

As you can see it’s a typical short run kit with not much in the way of instructions and blooming awful clear parts. There is a modicum of flash but nothing bad. I've spent about 20 minutes cleaning up the main parts and sorting out the fit. It;s actually pretty good.

Here's were I am now - I've started to assemble the highly detailed cockpit - including some sprue block to sit the IP against. I have some spare IP and seat belt decals that'll get used in this.

Cheers!

Very cool! I think that the box art looks more impressive than the basic kit though... :hmm:
