Okay.... Time for a little update.

The Hurricane and the Zero are now both finished. I got some much better quick dry CA glue and the antenna wires went on first time. As ever, brush painted with a wet palate and a mix of Hataka, Humbrol, Vallejo, Revell and Citadel acrylics.

Also, as 2022 marks 50 years since Matchbox started producing plastic kits, I kicked this one off a couple of weeks ago - a 1/72 Hawker Tempest. This kit gives you an option f building either a mk.VI or a mk.II. I chose to build mine as a mk.II based in India in 1946. I used some AM decals from Xtradecal.

This is what I ended up with. I was a pretty basic build and I cut a few corners, but it was a nice stress relief from all the DIY work going on.

Currently I'm working on an OO gauge station and platform to go with the trainset we got my son for his birthday this Friday, and some of the Citadel Miniatures I've been painting up for a while. Next on the bench is going to be another MB kit - the F-16 A/B.

I have a lot of spare external bits from my failed Tamiya CJ kit last year, and I also have some AM decals. I've always like the NY ANG 'Boys From Syracuse' markings so it'll be in those. It'll be interesting to see how this kit compares to the old Airfix kit I built last year, and the Tamiya and Hasegawa kits I have in the stash.

I've also got that F-15B and F-14A sitting next to the bench awaiting their turn.

Well that'll do for now - Cheers!

Busy times and great work! You builds look great.
To make each build less crappy than the last one. Or, put another way, "Better than the last one, not as good as the next one!"..

Very nice, Stuart. The Tempest Mk II is a neat looking airplane, cleaner looking to my eye than the Sea Fury. Too bad the Centaurus was so late developing.

Thanks Gents!

I agree John, you can see the lineage with the Sea Fury but it is a nicer looking aircraft.

Nice stuff Stuart! Your brush painting skills amaze me. Can’t imagine doing that.
Thanks,
