Saladin (Kingdom of Heaven)

Post by tigrazor »

G'day.

Some days a go, I got a very fine bust from a friend, whos a figure painter too. Its from NutsPlanet and shows Ghassan Massoud, who played Saladin in the movie "Kingdom of Heaven". The replica couldnt have been better - all details (and there are countless) are reproduced perfectly.

Painitng that bust was again lots of fun, and the high quality of it made it even easier.

That is just amazing paintwork Tig!

Just curious, what brand of colours are you using?

Many thanks all. Kari, its Vallejo colors in most cases. For the metal parts, theres a new range of metal colors, which are very good ones. Shake well and then paint them. Theyre very thin (which allows thin layers), but when you want to drybrush/highlight etc. a hanky is helpful.

The armor was painted with a very small brush (10/0) and was washed afterwards with a dark brown from GamesWorkshop (Agrax Earthshade), I use it very often, not only for figure painting.

Why did the Arabs not eat Lettice whilst on the road during the crusades? … Because they’d nothing to keep their ‘Salad in’!

Ok awful joke - I’ll get my Coat :bag: (and yes I know he was a very well respected and clever leader - he certainly kicked the Crusaders collective butts).

That's an awesome bit of figure work on what looks to be very nice bust Lucas - Great work as usual
