Jeaton's year in review

Post by jeaton01 »

I didn't think I built too many models this year but I guess I did. Didn't do very much R/C building though.

Fine Molds 1/48 A5M4

Fine Molds 1/48 A7M1 Reppu

Academy 1/72 CCKW 353

Tamiya 1/48 CCKW 353 Airfield Fuel Truck

Tamiya 1/48 Kurogane

Tamiya/Legend 1/35 M74 Tank Retriever
Image

Tamiya/Gaso-Line 1/48 CCKW 353 Bomb Truck

Tamiya 1/32 F-15's. 3 were built up for movie props. All three are built, one C is finished completely (pictured), the second C awaits decals, and the E is awaiting painting specifications. I was surprised at some of the challenges these kits brought, they are somewhere between the Lancaster and the Betty in quality. A 1/8 square ID brass tube runs in from between the nozzles up to where the engine fans are, and a1 1/8 square keystock bar slides in to support the model for filming. It is photoshopped out in this photo.

Hasegawa 1/48 J2M6 Raiden

Fine Molds 1/48 Mitsubishi Ka14

Tamiya 1/48 G4M1 Betty

Monogram Me 109E Refurbished 1965 build

Airfix 1/72 P-51D

Accurate Miniatures 1/48 P-51A

Planet 1/48 PT-19

Monogram 1/48 SNJ-3

Valom 1/72 YFM-1B

Tamiya 1/72 P-47D-15

With my grandson Alex, 5 years old now:
Meng Kids B-17
Image

Monogram 1/48 F4U-4 (This one is way past its prime compared to the new mold kit I built way back when)
Image

Atlantis Aurora 1/48 HUP-2
Image

Hawk 1/48 F-84G, for some reason one of my favorite old kits.
Image

With grandson Isaac, also 5:
Atlantis/Aurora 1/48 HUP-2. The paint job was strictly specified by Alex, he made me shake on the deal. He alone placed the polka dot masks.

And with granddaughter Audrey, 7.
Revell 1/32 F4F-4, painted with custom mixed craft paints. I applied a lot of super glue on the inside of the wing joints when Audrey wasn't looking.

Thanks, John, and you are very kind. I did have a lot of fun modeling this year, and I was almost as prolific as any given 6 month period when I was 10 years old, in numbers built.

My goodness, what a collection! Terrific work!
To make each build less crappy than the last one. Or, put another way, "Better than the last one, not as good as the next one!"..

You really went into overdrive to get that many cranked out in a year. That is crazy cool. Great work on all John. :shoutout: :shoutout: :shoutout:

Geez. You really had a prolific year. And some of those don't look that easy to build
