The hive in 2021: Borg Builds

Post by BorgR3mc0 »

2021 has been quite a “interesting” year. COVID obviously, working from home, lock downs etc. On top of that we had a large reorganisation at the office. As a manager I had to fire 5 out of my department of 15. That was my worst week in my carrière.

As for modelling, I did two reviews for the IPMS (scud and Slave I). Writing an article is more work but I find it quite rewarding. I had a reasonably productive first half of the year. But the second have bogged down in work related and other stuf.

Without further ado, this years production:

Revell (ex toxo) 1/72 Scud B

Eduard 1/48 Ki-115

Revell 1/88 (!?) Slave I

Tamiya 1/72 Achi Seiran

Congrats on the IPMS work? Those all look quite nice.
To make each build less crappy than the last one. Or, put another way, "Better than the last one, not as good as the next one!"..

Some nice looking builds, I really like slave 1
March as one, Don't look back
Odin's sons... Attack!
Unleash hell! Do not repent! Warfare grants us no lament
Let your weapons slash and tear This is no place for fear
Hold the lines! Move as one! In unity our victory's won
Our shields will form a mighty wall
United we shall never fall

Oh man I really like the float plane - beautiful.
Ya, managing has it's challenges. I had to cut 1/4 of my budget about 4 years ago. Resulted in letting 26 people go and restructuring my teams. And they ask why folks at high levels get compensated so well.... to those I say try it. I just walked away from my VP position this past July. Done and done!
Thanks,
John

Remco, these are some fascinating models! Nicely done on that SCUD: I did build the Toxso model when it was still Toxso. I enjoyed it a lot!

Brilliant work overall!

I love that slave 1! Wait... can we even call it that now... someone said something about that on the internet, MUST be true... :hmm:

Remco, those are four great builds from 2021! And kudos to you for being an IPMS reviewer on two of them. Your skills are certainly up to the level that a reviewer for such an organization should have! :shoutout: :shoutout: :shoutout:
