Re: After the Comback
thanks, Martin.
Thanks Borg - I learned from my frequent public outreach and live workshop exhibitions that the locals like to see thier own airforce on display. So with that demand in mind, I try to build an TNI aircraft from time to time.
Academy T-6 Harvard in TNI markings, 1/72
Academy Su-27 Flanker in TNI markings, 1/48
Airfix Fokker F-27 Troopship in TNI markings, 1/72

Thanks, Erik - That Bronco is my favorite too! It was the pinnacle of all my scratchbuiling skills at the time of the project. streching the limits in making decals, interior details, and DIY resin seatsAIRFIXER wrote:What a great collection, Monty!

Re: After the Comback
More pics on the Bronco! Please? I want one, but the Testor's kit is not, uh, well thought of and has some serious deficiencies in the tail....or so it seems. And there are 3 rivets too many on the port side under wing. I'd love to fly that rascal...bet it is a hoot.
To make each build less crappy than the last one. Or, put another way, "Better than the last one, not as good as the next one!"..

Re: After the Comback
Thanks, Jim. The Flanker is BIG for a fighter model. Academy had lots of fitting issues on this one especially on its belly. but other than that, its a straight build all the way.JimD wrote:Oh wow. I love the TNI Flanker!!!!
Here's a pic of its undebelly.
The hard-edge camo? well...I thought I was going to take forever with the masking. Here's a close up shot.

Re: After the Comback
Jim and Lyle - The Bronco is exactly like what everyone expect from a Testor kit: not much
I have been eyeing on the Testor Bronco since I was a kid. not knowing the misery if building one haahaa.
I had to build the whole interior from nada.
Rebuild the seats from scratch
and had to learn the hard way of making two of them . To get two good resin copies I had to make ten.
all the rivets are gone, finally.a very boring exercise!
I made some improvements here and there. rescribe all the panel lines and cutting out the flaps and aelerons. thought it was cool.
and went a bit overboard with it.
Added some goodies from Hasegawa weapons set
Cut the clear canopy and added hinges so it would show in an opened position
Yeah, the tail had shape issues but I let that go. thought hoping people would not notice
