1/48 F/A-18E Super Hornet
Re: 1/48 F/A-18E Super Hornet
Taking time at this stage will benefit the build in the end. It's not glamorous work but important, nonetheless.

Exactly! Screw up the nose and EVERYONE will see it. And having great references are a big help too!

Oh man that sucks.LyleW wrote:Slow is okay. Bet you didn't just snap a wing of a Pilatus PC-6 Turbo Porter in half.Medicman71 wrote:Thanks Lyle! It's not moving as fast as it seems. I haven't started on the nose of the other Super Hornet yet. It's slow but steady at least.

So as I was working on the nose, I noticed that there's a panel missing. It's right behind the ammo loading door just in front of where the star and bars starts. Inside here is the external power connector and control switches for the canopy and ladder. Easy fix by scribing in the panel line.

It's all in the little details and enough of these'll all add up in the finished build. Almost a one foot forward-two steps back kind of gig but it'll all be worth it. Keep at 'er Mike......you're doing great man.

Thanks guys! I'm usually not that picky but it's an important panel. And yes I'm going to add the rivets, I just hadn't gotten to them yet. There's some more rivets on the bottom and sides that need to be added as well.

Pretty much done with the nose. Still a few spots to clean up. I'll do a light sanding to make it all look uniform. Still need to add the front windscreen. That's gonna take some work to fair in.

Got the front windscreen on. Gonna let that sit and go to work on the second Hornet.
