Well not alot going on here haha bet you could tell
I’ve got all the decals on now and the canopy uncovered! Just some touchup to do on the tail decals and then i can add the wing tanks and ordinance.
Started working on the 3D print for the rice paddies. Bit of a challenge dredging up some 6 year old skills. More on this later this month for sure.

Re: F-105D Billy Sparks - Every Man A Tiger
Many thx guys!
I made 2 sets of masks for it. Kinda like Eduard does for inner and outer canopy masks. I just used them both on the outside.
I masked the canopy with the smaller mask, sprayed a coat of clear over the edges, sprayed a coat of black primer so that’s what would be seen on the inside, sprayed a coat of radome tan around the canopy edges, applied the set of masks designed to fit the canopy, and that finished it up - all set to spray silver lacquer
When i pulled the masking some little spots of radome tan pulled up. I left them because i thought it added to the look, like the real thing john posted earlier where the sealant has faded differently or sometimes looks like it isn’t there. The black underneath helped this as you never see clear glass anywhere.

The more I look at this build the more impressed I am. Super nice work. This is one very well done kit.

Thx gang!!
Finished up the FIRE
Time to start the base
I’ve gone backwards on this and decided drawing in cad and 3d printing is not the way to go for my 1st try at this. Going to focus on foam and realistic water
Here is my cardboard model and progression to foam.
Tomorrow off to home depot for wood to start the base to lay that in. Then i can burn out the centers to make the berms on each level of the rice paddi.
