Revell Apollo-Soyuz US - Soviet Space Link-up

Post by BlackSheep214 »

This is 1 of 3 kits I have been putzing around with these last few weeks off and on. I finally finished it last night.

The kit:

The main base is unpainted. The raised letters and circles I used red & yellow paint makers, the black is permanent marker. My plan is to find a bottle of sorts to display it inside with Earth and space in the background. Something similar to the Scenes in a Bottle kit I did as a kid.

I still have that kit with plans to restore it. Here's the original Scenes in a Bottle of the Apollo-Soyuz link-up kit....

I'm going to need to find replacement decals for this one...

That’s really a cool build!

On top of that, not common at all!

Thank you. Not common to find at a show either. Grabbed this one at Syrcon show a couple years ago for a great price. Kit was dated 1975 or 1976.

Absolutely, Mike. Everyone should build anything from the golden era of space travel. I'm always looking for any vintage Space related kits.

LOL @ John. No bathroom remodels. Both bathrooms already have gone through renovations.

That’s a good looking build Tom! The mission took place in 1975 and the kit came out at the same time. I built one of them back then. I’m looking to get another to build again.

Neat build, Tom, I have a Saturn V in the pile, but need some other subjects.
To make each build less crappy than the last one. Or, put another way, "Better than the last one, not as good as the next one!"..
