Why thank you. Maybe my local doc at a hobby shop can help me :giggles:
Okay, I know it was originally for Tom, but who cares.

I've actually started on one of the mk.Vc, in PRU blue over Grey.

The cockpit was painted up.

And then decalled, and then the fuselage went together. I was quite impressed with the fit of the cockpit of these new tooled kit, much better than Airfix's previous efforts. I should also point out that I did a lot more detail painting on the cockpit, plus washes and dry-brushing, I just forgot to take a photo... :headslap: But don't worry, it wasn't any good anyway, so you haven't missed much. :bag:

Cheers Dudes.

Made a lot of progress on this one since I last posted - it's now painted and I'm most of the way into the decals...

I've had a few issues with the decals breaking up, but I've managed to save them. It is a tad strange as this is the third build I've used this sheet for (Xtradecal Fighters over the Med and Africa) and I didn't have an issue with the last two. I've also had some issue with the decals going down over the gun bays etc. but I've hit it with Microsol.

Adding another potential Spitfire build to the list, I really like the look of this other SAAF bird on the same sheet (the 'Stang looks pretty tasty too), I think the standard Green/Brown over the Azure blue looks really interesting, as does the clipped wings.

:hmm: Honestly, asides from a few Armour builds, I could spend the rest of the year building just Spitfires and Hurricanes.

Cheers!

I do like those colors! Not the usual day fighter temperate schemes… :hmm:

No they're not are they? The Mediterranean theatre especially seems a real hotch-potch of different schemes - most of it non-standard, that's why I'm enjoying this sheet so much.

And you will find that instead of squadron code letters/numbers, a few RAF squadrons in the MTO used their pre war markings over the camouflage schemes. Those do make for some visually striking aircraft schemes.

Well funny you should say that Carlos, as this one is also on the soon to be built list - from the same Xtradecal sheet. But I agree, the pre-squadron code markings look cool.
