Monogram 1/48 A-10

Post by jeaton01 »

Being of little imagination, I'll start with a Monogram 1/48 A-10.
My modelling website, with build logs.

Who doesn’t like self deprecation John :giggles:
Big Joe: 'You just keep those Tigers busy and we'll take care of the rest.'
Oddball: 'The only way I got to keep them Tigers busy is to let them shoot holes in me...'

That kit is actually the most accurate A-10A in 1/48.

The Monogram A-10 was my first model after returning to the hobby, circa 1988. I bought it at our local Winn's department store, from their meager stock of scale models. In hindsight, it might not have been the best kit to jump back in with, but I didn't know that then.

Mike, I didn't know that fact about the Monogram 'Hog, but it doesn't surprise me. Monogram was usually really good about accurate shapes!

My A-10, photographed at the Cameron airport a few years ago now:

Very nice Hog! Yeah almost everyone gets the nose and engines wrong.
