First visit of 2026 to Electic Chic Antique Mall

Post by BlackSheep214 »

Found a quite a few model kits but no cigar. Either the kits were partially built, lacking decals or missing parts. I did find one I had thought about grabbing... Babylon 5 Starfury sci-fi kit. Everything in plastic bag but missing decals. $15. Asked if prices are negotiable. Nope.

However the 1/200 scale Bismarck Battleship was still there. Kit is complete in its bags, box is at least a 3 1/2 feet long. Its a big ship model kit.

Vendor still asking too much for it - $300

Saw another ship model.kit - 1/350 scale USS Enterprise CVN-65 by Tamiya for $100. Not too bad a price but definitely cheaper than Trumpeter 1/350 scale carrier kits.

Fantastic items, Tom. I don't necessarily get excited about battleships, but I can see the appeal here! I've adde a link to the store below:

It has a lot of vendors stations, each selling their wares. You can find almost anything from old comic books, baseball cards, antique toys from the 70s, LPs/45s, furniture, tools, and everything in between. I typically spend an hour and a half walking around. Worth a trip if you’re in the area - especially if the missus is into antiques. :giggles:

Bruce, the link with the comments is dead on correct. It’s never the same things; you always find something new. That’s why I go 2 or 3 times a year. This time, as far as model kits goes… there were more than when I’ve gone in the past. It’s always a crap shoot what you’ll find as far as model kits.

That Babylon 5 kit is quite rare so I think even without decals that was a reasonable price.

I was thinking the same thing - the cheapest I can find on ebay UK is £100. Most of them on on for much more than that.
