I need y’all’s hep.

See below. One side worked. One side didn’t. I painted a contrasting color for the depth markers, then over painted in the hull color. Lightly sanded.. anyway, I need 1/100 (1/97.6 someone online calculated) hull numbers in black and white. I may be able to make the black, but not the white. I’ve found some in white that are different scales.

I already sanded the bad side off.

Hmmm. I already had a solution using what was there, then I read that you removed the decals by sanding. I have to rethink now.

Maybe you can find a set of decals online. That’s what I’d try first. Or contact Lindberg about sending you a set.

I’m trying to suss what happened. Maybe you need to polish the surface with a microfiber cloth gently, to remove a rough finish. It’s hard to tell from the photos what happened, but I would definitely want to make sure the entire hull surface is smooth but not glossy. I wouldn’t add gloss on top of Rust Oleum. Hand polishing ought to give you a smooth surface. Something I’ve played around with which comes from my Dad is using Johnson hard floor wax as a surface polish.

I had a thought, then I remembered I sanded it all down.

I worked them very lightly.used a finenemory board because it was stiff. The Rustoleum is gone. This is automotive primer, Tamiya rattle cams. If I have to print, I think a dark gray would work.

What is molded on the bow looks to bow looks to be 0.07” or 1.7 / 1.8 mm. So something like that might work.
