The wife and I went to Dutch Country Pa to check out some of the Farmers Markets and Antique Shops. It was a beautiful day and the musem was near by,so we just had to stop in.Not an extensive collection, but very well done, the guide was very friendly and helpful. The only disappointment was that the stars of the museum had just flew to Michigan for an airshow yesterday. The fully restored Avenger and B-25.They have a WWII Weekend in June I may have to check out.
I told my wife that this just whet my appetite to get out to Dayton,Ohio.
Here is the link to some pictures.

Re: Visit to Mid-Atlantic Air Museum
Thanks sharing, many nice objects even if the main "actors" were on a business-trip...
What on earth is this plane, really special looking, never seen such before?
(hope it was ok for you that I linked to your photobucket picture?)

Re: Visit to Mid-Atlantic Air Museum
nice pictures! Good to see the P-61 still there...
To make each build less crappy than the last one. Or, put another way, "Better than the last one, not as good as the next one!"..

That is a picture of a Custer Channel Wing. A failed experiment to build a better wing/prop combination by blowing the wind over the wing.

Re: Visit to Mid-Atlantic Air Museum
I always loved U.S. museums. So much dedication to preseve history. Maybe because there are more oil billionaires than in Germany?
Thanks for those pictures, Anthony! Like the one of the P-61, hope it will be fully restored soon!
