Re: Stuart's Finishes for 2022
I really need to get the Defiant. There’s something about the ball turrent that intrigues me. I’ve got 2 Typhoons but not the Tempest. Definitely gotta get the Tempest.

Excellent batch Stuart! And once again I have to give kudos for the aircraft shelter door background. That works great with your builds.

Both available in 1/48 Tom - Eduard do a Tempest II and Airfix do a Defiant in both 1/72 and 1/48 - both of which build up nicely. The Defiant is an interesting design - though not a match for fighters like the bf109 it was actually pretty competent at it's intended purpose of shooting down bombers. It did make quite an effective nightfighter when fitted with AI radar. I do sometimes wonder how differently it would have faired if they'd actually fitted it with forward firing guns as well as the turret.BlackSheep214 wrote: ↑Wed Dec 14, 2022 8:40 pm I really need to get the Defiant. Yeah it's a bit of fun - it's actually a cold war soviet hanger, but as they're not cheap to buy (I can't remember the company who makes them - they have a range of backgrounds) I tend to make use of it for everything.

That's a busy year. Those are all really nice. I love that background piece. Well done. Keep them going.
