If you look closely at rubber, ie tires etc. You will notice that they are actually varying levels to grey, even new ones. There are plenty of "tire black" and greys out there. I lean more to the grey scale on my tires and I prefer Vallejo Black Grey. I find it really looks to part. You can easily make your own with grey and enough black to make you happy. I also think the Testors Rubber black is too brown. FWIW

I love Akan Old Tire Black. Their tire color is spot on. Unfortunately, mine ran out. Nothing came close to Akan's brand of tire black.

Lyle forgot his meds again...

Tamiya German Grey is a good color for tires. Loks close to the Akan Old Tire Grey (not black as I originally thought :bag: )

The last few years I have been using Vallejo German Panzer Grey primer, I used to use Polyscale's Grimy black when it was available.

I just paint mine flat black; once it flattens, it looks quite authentic to me. Besides, I'm always dusting up my tires anyway so who can tell what color they really are?

Ooops, I forgot my u's, Lyle, can I borrow a couple from your group up there?
