Thanks, Tom. Should have some updates in a day or so.

To make each build less crappy than the last one. Or, put another way, "Better than the last one, not as good as the next one!"..

Re: Tamiya 1/35 M16
went ahead and did a few pics. Avoiding putting the quad mount in place yet to try and preserve it. I'm very bad at weathering, so just applying various washes, some accents with a Prismacolor silver pencil, etc. The star on the front grill slats was a pain. No decals to use, so I ended up spending a $1.00 on a file off Etsy. I know. Anyway, tried to use the Silhouette cutting device to cut the star with horizontal slices. Sort of worked. Not great, but it will do. Thursday and Friday will likely be "off" days running errands and going to various appointments.
I'll be adding a darker "mud" and wash to the tracks and maybe a hint of steel.

my attempts at creating some color variations so far. I will likely break out the oils next.

Lyle! I agree with you that locating that star in four pieces seems like a real pain and what you did works except where it doesn’t. Just a thought—why not build some stowage and cover what doesn’t work?

Keep building!

I don’t know. Th bottom two points were cut from a whole star, but would not sit properly. I mat re-do those. I do have some storage somewhere!speedgraflex wrote: ↑Wed Jan 22, 2025 4:40 pm Lyle!
