Bending PE is a bit more challenging, and trying to get the items positioned exactly right also can be a pain. But again, I’m not too bothered by it.
I find the bigger problem with PE is dropping/launching losing the part via tweezers, and clean up of attachment nubs on those little bitty items
.
I agree with that, Carlos.

I try to cut the parts free while they're in a clear, plastic bag, and try to remove those nubs while under there too. But, it's not an agreeable task.

Anyway this is all crap - the most EVIL thing in modelling is a vac-formed canopy. Those are just the spawn of Satan.
Oh yes!

You've spoken the truth, my friend.

Oh, those vac-formed canopies give me so much anxiety. I ruined both versions that came from Squadron for my Bf-109E-7 and had to resort to using Hobbycrafts' thick old canopy.

I also have a tough time with wire radio antenna, getting them looking scale and realistic isn't easy for me. And, and I'm sure I'll think of something else to whinge about as soon as I post this...

Masking my own canopies is tedious but it doesn't bother me too much.
I hate working with PE (and resin - I HATE resin) but it's one of those things I want to get better at.
Anyway this is all crap - the most EVIL thing in modelling is a vac-formed canopy. Those are just the spawn of Satan.
I don't mind vacuform canopies since I learned to cut them out and final shape them with a dremel carbide or diamond wheel cutting tool. It's like working with plexiglas panels full scale when you have to make holes for screws. A cutting tool like a drill bit is a sure way to cause cracking out around the hole. A high speed burr that melts its way through is much safer.
As for PE, a man has got to know his limitations, and my shaky hands set those! Not to mention a lot of PE just looks too 2 dimensional to me. 3D printing is so much better for those tiny details, as part of larger assemblies.

Oh I didn't take it wrong. I knew it was a joke.
