RA doc has me on a low dose of steroids for the moment. Hopefully the other med I started kicks in soon. From what I was reading it takes 3-6 months to start working. Fortunately the steroids are helping. Still have a little pain, swelling and some stiffness, but it's tolerable.
I stayed home from the museum yesterday thanks to the cold temps. High for the day was in the single digits. No thanks. Anyway, I managed three and a half hours at the bench.
Engines are mostly together, aside from the exhaust pieces. I was thinking about drilling holes in the end, but they are so small I'd probably just destroy them, and once the cowl flaps are on you don't see them anyway. I may get stupid and still attempt it though, lol.
Landing gear just about done, aside from some weathering.
Some of he fiddly bits primed, and ready for paint. A few more small areas of putty, sand, prime, repeat on the plane itself, and it should be ready for paint.
Hoping to get some time at the bench today, but we'll see. Household chores must get done first, and we are getting hit with a snow storm that is going to be going for the next roughly twenty four hours. So snow removal may take precedent.

I'm so over winter. Ready for it to be gone. I know we've got a few more months of the crap though.

Very nice progress Keyda!

The OCD in me would say hollow out the ends of the exhaust stacks….

Thanks! I know, but they are so small, and there would be four holes per piece, times nine. 36 holes per engine. Eh, too many. Lol.
As for the Hornet, it's an old Revell one I threw together to use as a paint mule. I originally intended to use it in the trio of Jolly Rogers planes I built, but opted to get the Hasegawa kit instead.

Been trying to get time at the bench, and it's difficult. Between work, making dinner, cleaning house, and spending time with Mike I don't get at the bench much. Mike and I don't get much time to spend together. He works in Batavia, which is about an hour drive one way for him, and he has two disabled children he cares for 5 days a week on top of his full time(sometimes more) job. Two out of three of his boys have a genetic condition called Dystonia with Parkinsonism. His youngest was affected by it a little over a year ago now, and is bed ridden with a feeding tube right now. Long story short, we try to spend as much time together as we can get, lol.
Anyway. I managed to start on rescribing panel lines the other day. Sometimes I love doing it, and sometimes I hate it. Right now because that is the only thing I can do I'm somewhere in between, and don't really feel like doing it. I keep screwing up, and that is irritating me. You can see a few blobs of putty in the pic, lol.
I haven't even finished the top of this wing yet.
But you can tell by looking at the other wing the whole plane needs rescribing.
Engines are done, props are done, gear and drop tanks painted, will get weathered once they are on the plane.
Hoping for some time at the bench today. Took the day off from work, have a Drs appointment. But things never go as planned, so we'll see.

Wow! I've been quietly following along, absorbing all of the issues that you're handling with your health but at the same time marveling at how your work is bringing this kit to life through your dedication and talents. Those are some tight panel lines to my eyes, and the cockpit, engines, propellors and landing gear turned out extremely well! I am looking forward to your next steps whenever you take them. I'll be following along!
