Re: Tamiya 1/48 P-51D Mustang
Nope nothing installed correctly that im aware of. I did test fit first and again before applying glue. Once I glued it in place, top wings wouldn't fit. Don't know if top wings were warped or the framework were a tad too high. Who knows.
I do know top wings did fit perfectly to bottom prior to framework of wheel well assembly. Maybe I missed something I overlooked. I don't know.
Would I get another Eduard kit again. Yes. I want to give it another go at it. Maybe I'll discover what I may have overlooked, missed and why it didnt fit the first time around.
I do have the Eduard Butcher bird in my stash though.

I think it’s the design, Tom. Similar to ZM and even old Trimaster kits, the more the designers include inside the cockpit the finer the tolerances of fit become. I saw how much you ground down; that definitely leads me to believe that what was stuffed inside the fuselage affects the overall fit and dry fitting would not catch that per se.

Surgery is a success after careful sanding and grinding in variable speeds with both dremel tools. Place a small plate of styrene sheet on bottom for support to hold parts.

I'll throw some paint on before attaching recycled parts. I am curious to compare the seats from the Eduard and Tamiya. Same with the joystick.

Re: Tamiya 1/48 P-51D Mustang
Found a few more parts from the Eduard kit I’ll repurpose into this kit. The cockpit is painted, now I need to throw a coat of black detail wash before finishing up the assembly. Stay tuned…
