Thanks Mark! I'm starting all the detail paint work on the side walls now. Once that's done I'll get some more photos then get the forward fuselage all closed up...

Just a small progress report today. One other point on this kit that I can not let be "as is". And that is the antennas. A Wild Weasel is more than a mere launch platform for ARMs. It is a flying antenna farm with multiple receivers that detect, sort, locate, identify, and classify RADAR RF signals. The nose alone is missing at least 16 antennas.

As molded, the kit nose APR-38 Beam receivers has 5 per side

Image

The real F-4G has 10

Image

This is easily corrected.
1. Drill 5 holes in the proper spots with a pine vise & drill bit

Image

2. Add small lengths of thin rod styrene in those holes

Image

3. Cut them down and file them to just above surface level

Image

I'll try to get some better photos of this up later.

This takes care of 10 of the 16 missing nose APR-38 antennas once both sides are done... :dogwag:

Note to anybody doing this, use a drill bit that matches the diameter of the rod being used so no gaps occur like here. :headslap:

Thanks. Now to complete the opposite side. And start making up the other missing antennas. As well as finish up the cockpit detail painting... :clockwatch:
