I agree with you and Stuart about the level of crafting when it comes to building a model, however the imp of the perverse tends to rule at times and from what I can tell the dominant features of this aircraft certainly include these jet intakes as part of the build detail. You’ve done a great job of seam-chasing here, Chris and it’s wonderful to see the detail and read your comments!
Bruce, I had to google 'imp of the perverse'

. You are going to need to rename this site SPAU if you guys keep dropping all these big words and phrases on me if your comments. I believe I am going have a doctorate degree after 4 years on this site.

Chris, it’s all good. I was a sickly kid and my dad read all of Edgar Allan Poe’s works to me while I was bed ridden. I think Poe would sympathize with what being a model builder entails. I’ve also looked up online articles on the Monogram F-14 too! You’re doing a beautiful job!

First off,Chris, beautiful work! I’m loving your work on this kit.
Bruce… your mention of Poe’s work brought back memories of times past and an Army buddy recently deceased… all of our teams had five letter names for call signs (that’s another technical explanation) and one team was “raven”. He started quoting the poem in the middle of the night while we were on radio watch listening for traffic in that team’s contact window. Just one of those long forgotten memories that pops up again with the right words.

Big Poe fan. The recent remake of the fall of the house of usher was really good. Historical tidbit - he was a cadet at West Point for a bit.

Carlos, Incredible the way memories work isn’t it? Great story! John, I need to watch that series now. With so much material being released it’s hard to choose and your recommendation means a lot. Thank you!

Heh... I remember building the vintage Monogram Tomcat. Then I discovered the Hasegawa Tomcat in the 80s

I discovered the Hasegawa F-14A as well and decided it was better to stick with the Monogram

Those intake plugs look like they worked well Chris and I like the choice of markings.
Its good to see Revell did at least fix the issue with the burners.
