Ken—Thank you! I am just doing a few minutes a night as a winding down between projects. You were instrumental in the use of oils. I just chose water soluble versions. They do need a bit of tooth in order to stick. I thought at first primer but I really like lacquer as a preparatory layer, then I can wash on oils and graphite. Also I think the RLM66 mixture that comes straight from the bottle needs to be lightened a bit. I also think that I was planning to brush paint quite a bit of this project so I am happy to be using a brush to add washes of oil and graphite to the finish.

I hit the firewall more heavily with graphite because most of this will be hidden by the instrument panel. I also need to add the other lap belt! :headslap:

Bruce you’re truly mad with that level of detail on such a small item...

Test shot—I was gettin Null Codes from Post Image. Thanks, gents. I have to send praise straight back to Stuart for his extraordinary brush painting which inspires me, Carlos for his incredible detailing and painting, Kevin for demystifying Eduard’s construction as well as incredible camouflage (seriously the Trop is “spots on”) and Mustang Joe for his extraordinary Arado and Fw190 Anton, which I have studied so often my phone bookmarked the posts.

Thank you.

I am working on my portfolio so my time is crunched to nil, except for a brief respite where I ran through the Eduard instructions again and ate a sandwich for dinner. I also took this mixed daylight-electric light photo to see in the most unkind way possible what happens with the colors. I am deliberately mixing blue gray with gray-gray, if that makes any sense at all. There is probably too much “graphite spatter” as well but that is easy enough to reduce.

Bruce this office is looking splendid so far! I love the very minute, subtle detailed weathering you have done so far
