The hole where the belt needs to go through, is also a little bit too tight, due to the misalignment.

So, I took some close-up pictures and mailed HGW Models expressing my disappointment.
Especially as I have bought previously HGW products stuff without this error.

As a matter of fact, it is Eduard who has made these PE parts, not a small company without high experience in PE parts.
I think that justifies a complain, but in a polite way of course. Shouting and yelling has many times the opposite effect.

Interesting to see how (and if) their customer care handles my case and how.
I am fine with an answer, I will use these anyhow in my build.

Here we go, I got an answer from HGW models today, much quicker than I though, as I did not expect anything to happen during the weekend anyhow.

The reply was very objective and straight to point. They apologized the quality issue of their supplier (aka Eduard) and they will dispatch a new set of PE's to me. Just had to provide my address.

That is what I call very good service! Quick and effective!

Well done HGW Models !!

Kari's Revell 1/32 Bf-110 C-2/C-7 "Setback"

Post by KSaarni »

Thanks guys, very happy of the outcome with HGW Models ... let's see how Revells customer care works, because of this:

Image

Setback, found this on the floor, not knowing when it has dropped, not knowing if I have stepped on it, some cat, no idea.
But that does not matter, now matters how to get a replacement piece.

So I filed to Revell a request for a sparepart, probably needing to pay for the postage, which in this case is fine by me, my "fault".
And as long as I get the transparent piece H-10 I am happy!

Ouch Kari - that's nasty. :hmm: Could be repairable maybe? With lots of polishing?

Just caught up with this thread - what a superb looking build thus far, your cockpit work is awesome and the U?C bays look real. :shoutout: :shoutout: :shoutout: :shoutout:

Many thanks Stuart, and welcome back!

And indeed, not an ideal "incident".
I have glued the pieces together, but it is very thin and brittle plastic, so I am afraid to try to polish/smooth it, especially from the inside is very tricky.
Easy to break. I hope Revell comes back to me, but in worst case scenario, need to think of some other solution.

Check out Eduard's October newsletter for plenty of AM-stuff for this bird.
