Thanks, Chris and Kari!

The fire is still moving northeast. The area north of UCLA is being evacuated. I don’t think residents truly understand that a wildfire will continue to spread from the smallest of embers and the wind is expected to blow again and soon. I fully expect an evacuation caution to come in the next 48 hours considering these circumstances. I’m also not sure if I should be traveling today; the fire has spread to the major freeway that divides West from East here. To the West is the fire and to the East there is threat of fire.

I packed ID docs, passport, my Dad’s watch, an extra pair of glasses, set of clothes, handi-wipes, masks, flashlight, family photos, toiletries, in a bag which is kept close. I have another larger bag with water, food, shoes and the model kit in a fireproof bag. I’m afraid this will get crushed but at least I’ll have the cowling and photo etch which are not replaceable. I didn’t know Gary was in Southern California! Please stay safe! Also, Duke, stay safe! I hope to see you soon.

We - your friends here in Germany (including Judy) - pray for you and the citizens of LA and the affected area to stay safe. We hope the fires will get under control by the firefighters. To much pain, fear and destruction is already done.
I can't help you directly but be sure you are not alone. We are with you! Take care of you!

Bruce, and all, just to be clear, I'm not in California. We're here in central Texas, watching the developments and hoping for everyone's safety in this catastrophic event. Please be careful out there Bruce and Mark!

No worries, Gary!!

Apologies for any confusion. I’m glad you’re not here. Truly. I spoke briefly with Mark yesterday (Monday is hobby day for him) and he is doing all right. It’s a stressful time here, though.

Bruce, I am glad you're getting everything in order, and I'm praying that you don't need to evacuate. I understand how stressful this can be and I hope that the fires pass you by. I'm still very far away, I can't even see smoke plumes or nighttime fire glow, so we are doing okay.

Once I can get my truck back, I'll have it at your disposal for whatever you might need.

Duke! Duke! Duke! You are an Ace! I may be mostly building a Spanish galleon this week in a proper studio! My thoughts are with you! I hope your truck is repaired easily and costs are not too high.

Sad day. I’m still here but David Lynch has left the building for good or passed into the ether or however it goes at the end. I’m told he passed peacefully. Here is a snap taken out in my buddy’s backyard where I was painting earlier.
