Bruce, that car body looks sharp. I do like the color.

As for me, I’ve finally gotten some bench time lately and have been working on a couple of 1/35 figure sets: Dragon 2 SAS Regt. and Miniart US Tank Crew





and finally doing the detail paint work on an upgrade and rebuild of an old Sherman

Thanks, Carlos. I’m happy you had some time on the bench! Both sets of figures have a fantastic amount of detail!!! Also, I’m sure that I am not alone in wishing you started a “Repairs and Maintenance” thread. I would be most curious to learn how you approach this aspect of the hobby.

Today is my brother's birthday. Blessed to be his brother. This mess is on the bench.



Somehow, it is working...mirrors life at the moment. Wow.

Looks a bit crowded there Lyle! But then again, mine is in nearly identical condition... I suppose that’s a good thing.

Bruce, I had never thought of a thread for such things. It would be mostly armor centric, since aircraft kits are usually far more of a challenge to overhaul/rebuild. But I think that I can get something going. I have several armor overhauls going in various levels of overhaul, and stages of effort.

Might even make a good forum topic. Keeps the threads separate.

I spy a PT boat! Thank you so much for posting your bench shot, Lyle—makes the scale of the model easier to understand, which is important. Are you doing a mix of brush painting and air brush? I’m curious about your approach. I better go check your thread. The Porsche was a test. I plan to add gloss white to approximate the fiberglass shell color then follow that with some kind of Ron Burgundy mix on top of that. Or add another layer of silver and shut off my brain. I think many of my problems are caused by overdoing the steps. I could just go straight to Ron Burgundy then decal the stripes too.

Bruce, do not overthink it...but, I eat crayons. . . or I used to. Nothing much in the PT thread at this time. Just piddling or putzing away at it. I'm sure I will use both brushes and the airbrush. That, or just dunk it in OD.
