I have the recently "re-re-re-released" Italeri kit of the Viking. I would like to see a new tool kit of it in 1/48.

That's what irks me about some of Italeri's re pops. Unlike Revell, they charge a new tool price for a 70s vintage kit that is being re issued.

Right!! It's twice the price now than what it was when I was a teenager. It's the same kit people!!!

I would gladly spend $ on a new-tooled kit of the S-3, I've been watching a couple of the online auction sites and event the old ESCI/AMT kit is getting pricey. Maybe a new kit with some PE included in the kit like most Academy and Trumpeter kits are doing now.
I recently picked up the Trumpeter TA-3B and it has nice photo-etch included.

eBay is terrible for prices 90% of the time nowadays. Kit collector shows offer way better bargains. I was in the same boat about adding a S-3A to my stash. I did no want to pay eBay prices for an old kit or any shops price for the Italeri rebox. Last year at a kit show I got one for cheap, secondhand. Even with the AM decals, and if I get some seats, it still will cost less than the rebox or the eBay gougers...

Sigh...eBay. Yeah, there are some crazy prices on kits out there especially when you add the shipping charges. I tend to watch for "make offer" deals. I've got a couple kits in decent fair prices in the past whenever I make an offer. 9 times out of 10 I do get the fair deals for both myself and the seller. This way we both win.

This is one main reason I don't shop E-bay. If I'm going to pay those kind of prices; I'll go to a local hobby shop and save on the shipping costs. Most times though, I'll do as Carlos does: I'll shop at the local contests and kit collector's shows. While I can rarely get an of the newest releases; at least I can pick up some old classics for considerably less than I can from all the greedy E-bay gougers who are out to make their millions at my expense.

I've never bought anything off eBay. I've tried but always loose out on the bidding.
