We always figure out the color just after it's too late to fix it, don't we. But in this case I think you can. I did that on an F-86E cockpit once, and yes it was way too late to change it!

RAF WWII fighter wheel well colors usually match the lower surface of the aircraft. Now comes the fun part. Early Hurricanes (pre war) had an aluminum colored underside, so they came from the factory in that color, with the wheel wells matching, When war broke out, the under surfaces were repainted into black and white, one side in each color for ID purposes. The wheel wells were still coming from the factory in aluminum. By the end of the Battle of France, it was decided to repaint the undersides in a sky camouflage color, instead of the Black & White. But... that summer the directive was interpreted in different was and several different colors were used: Duck Egg Blue, Eau de Nile, Sky Blue, and the color finally settled as the standard, Sky. At the same time, the factories were still finishing the wheel wells in aluminum.

All that aside, it looks good!

Considering the age of this Airfix kit, it sure has been a helluva fight trying to attach the wings to the fuselage. :headbang: :ggun:

There are gaps that needs to be tending to. :headbang: :headbang: :headbang: Next time, I'm getting the newer Airfix kit. :bored:
