Radial engine. Painted using Tamiya Gunmetal lacquer with Testors Model Master Dark Andonic Grey Metalizer lacquer. I opt not to use aluminum on the cylinders. The dark andonic Grey made it look a bit more war worn look.
Next, the propellers. I've been experimenting mixing colors for aluminum for a better realistic used look instead of straight up aluminum color. The back side of prop blade is black. I've decided on using NATO Black instead of flat black instead.
Experimenting using various ratios with aluminum and Titanium Silver, aluminum and silver. Haven't found the shade I'm looking to achieve yet.
The instruction guide lists both the spinner and front faci g blades as aluminum. I want to do a slight variation of color between the spinner and prop blades.

Last night, I did 2 different shades using Tamiya Aluminum and Titanium silver...
Letter "A" shade is 50 - 50 ratio using aluminum and Titanium Silver
Next to it is 25% Titanium Silver, 75% Aluminum.
I'm thinking using 50-50 ratio for spinner, the other on prop blades. Thoughts or suggestions?

I'd say go with a polished aluminum for the prop blades and a flat aluminum on the spinner.
AK Real Colors aluminum is perfect for the polished shade, and basic Tamiya Flat Aluminum will work on the spinner.
Thats what I used on my F2A Buffalo

Thank you, Carlos for the suggestion. That’s exactly the look I’m looking for. I’m making a stop at a HobbyTown in Clinton tomorrow. I might find polished aluminum there.

I love all the marking masking that you're doing on this! What made you do the prop shaft out of metal? Where are you going with that?
