Looking very nice indeed Chris - glad to see some more progress on this. I do like the Razorback P-47, such a great looking aircraft.

Meanwhile, back in 48 scale land.. The Razorback received a flat coat of Tamiya TS-80... Some of the decals shriveled up under the lacquer, but luckily they laid back down

Thank you Stik!

Here is what I did today. Spent 1 hour holding the fuselage upside-down and cussing as I tried to install /align / glue the cockpit tub in place through the nose. The idea worked brilliantly for painting w/o worrying about masking the interior :giggles: but my lack of planning (read as adding support structure inside the fuselage to aid in alignment or just plane hold the tub where you want it while gluing) caused much unnecessary pain…

Another thing I should have done was thin down the IP coaming as it is quite thick. Maybe I can paint the edge black to help it be less conspicuous. :hmm:

So, after I defeated the Emperor, I finally got to use my P-47 Cowl Mount V4.0 that I designed and printed at the start of this project. It worked exactly as I had foreseen it...

Wow! It looks great! You said that you used Tamiya lacquer clear coat? Was it through the airbrush or rattle can? I have some LP-24 Semi-gloss lacquer clear and I wanted to know how much to thin it.

Hi Mike , I used rattle can TS-80 (because it's so ez). I also have the LP clears. I am guessing I thin them 50/50 with MCLT or Tamia Lacquer thinner. Of course, start around 3:2 paint to thinner and go from there. Really depends on how you are laying it down and how thick of a paint your nozzle can handle.

That's what I figured. That's what I do with the Mr Color Clears.
