Sorry to hear about the RA.
Good to have you back, and the usual extraordinary work!
ICM's 1/48 A-26 Invader
Re: ICM's 1/48 A-26 Invader
To make each build less crappy than the last one. Or, put another way, "Better than the last one, not as good as the next one!"..
Re: ICM's 1/48 A-26 Invader
Hasn't been any progress on the A-26 lately because we've been busy moving some stuff around in the house the last couple of weeks. I have an addition on the back of he house that was technically my late husbands living room. My daughter has been bugging me to make it her bedroom. It's bigger than her bedroom upstairs, and has a half bath as well. Problem was it also has a sliding glass door, and the dogs beds, toys, and what not are back there. So I really didn't think it was going to work. But I was also very tired of my bedroom being so cramped with my model desk, paint booth, and the other desk that housed my cricut, computer, printer, and new 3D printer stuff. So we went over some stuff, and decided to make the move.
I had to clean up some stuff in the basement last weekend to get some of my late husbands things out of the room. Then we worked on moving all her furniture down to the backroom. There was the fiances computer desk that needed to be moved up to the bedroom once all my stuff was moved into the kids old bedroom. So lots of stuff being hauled up and down stairs, lol.
Her room is done and set up how she wants it. So I've been working on my new hobby room off and on after I get out of work. I had to buy a new desk, the one I was using came from the basement, and wasn't very stable on hard word floors. Put that together yesterday after returning from the museum. Today's task is to hopefully get the rest of my stuff up there. I have all the modeling stuff in there, but my cabinet/shelf with my Mini Whiskey 7's and all my other airplane decor are in my living room downstairs. I'd like to have everything in one room. So we've got a lot of stuff to move today. I will hopefully have it done, and post up some pics later.

That's great that you're going to have a dedicated model room!

That all sounds fun!

You'll have to let me know if you can see pics now. I changed out the photos using a different image hosting site.
Re: ICM's 1/48 A-26 Invader
Thanks for doing that Christine - that's really appreciated, it's great to be able to see your work. Loving the build so far, the A-26 is a fantastic looking aircraft and you're doing a great job on this one.

Not a problem! Thanks! I'll use postimages from now on to put pics up.

Oh bless you - that's great of you. Bloody imgur blocking the UK is a real PITA. It's killed off my participation in a few forums as all I'm seeing everywhere is blue boxes.

That's no fun. I have no issues changing image hosting sites, as long as it's free, and easy to use.
Bit of progress over the last few days. I've gotten to the point where I'm just going to cover up my screw ups with weathering. I can't sit there and try to re-scribe anymore, lol.
Decided to do some chipping on it for the fun of it. So a layer of Alclad airframe aluminum.

After some hairspray, and green zinc chromate.

Still need to get the main two colors on, do the chipping, and then seal it. Not sure when I'll be able to get to that yet. I have pre-op testing today for my surgery on March 10th. Should be a much easier surgery than the mastectomy was. Just to swap out this stupid uncomfortable expander for an implant. Thank you breast cancer.

Looking very nice indeed - I certainly can't see any screw-ups! It's going to be interesting to see the chipping with the metals and Zinc Chromate - that'll look lovely and layered.
Good luck with the pre-op tests.
