BMW801D-2 14 cylinder engine done. Such a shame 99% of it won't be seen once inside the cowling.

This is the most difficult part of assembly. Very hard and almost put a hammer to the kit.

Fuselage is buttoned ed up. Going to try to assemble the weapons bay piece by piece. Tried to install on fuselage half but it won't cooperate with the fit.

This is where I'm at for the moment...

I had to carefully break off part I21 from L16 after removing the whole assembly from fuselage half. Will try again with fuselage buttoned up.

Fuselage buttoned up. The cockpit fits like glove after careful test fitting. The notches are the key to line it up correctly - especially along the back side top of fuselage.

Hopefully, this may help since I'll have some wiggle room to get the whole weapons carriage installed properly.

Is this the old kit? If so I attempted to build it years ago and ended up tossing it out because nothing fit right.

I’m on the step to put the top wing halves to the bottom. I don’t why, but I’m having a feeling this kit is gonna meet the hammer if it continues to fight me. Almost Deja vue from the Eduard Mustang kit wing issues.

IF… it does get binned, I will never buy another Eduard kit again. Not worth the money, hassle, stress and dealing with fit issues because of the over engineering of all their kits. I’m truly starting to hate Eduard kits altogether.

I’ve read that this kit is challenging. Particularly if you try to close up all the various access hatches that can be built in the open position. I guess it’s kinda like trying to close up the engine on the ICM Spitfires if you build and install the engine that is in the kit. My next ICM Spitfire will omit the engine for a clean buttoned up cowling.

It is extremely challenging. Don’t get me wrong, I do love a challenge but sometimes certain challenges can lead to frustrations.
