Thanks Kari. These sludge washes won’t come in too handy on my armor builds, but for aircraft, they are just what I needed! The simplicity of making them up, application, and removal is hard to beat.

A major milestone reached today... flat coat on and masking removed...



I have a few more detail items to paint and some others to glue on... as things stand right now I ought to have it wrapped up over this holiday weekend

Finish line in sight! BTW what color do you use for the ID markings? After my last decal failure I think I'll paint them.

It’s a Gunze Aqueous color… Orange Yellow. I am out of the house right now and can’t check the item number. But I do love that color! It is so vivid. I prefer to paint those leading edge ID areas over using decals. The decals rarely fit just right.

Progress of sorts on the Type 97. I have also figured out why I don't do much weathering....by the time I get to that point, I just want the thing done and for it to go away!

Camo is hand painted and it looks the part. There are some small parts to add along with the road wheels and tracks...

Looking good, Lyle. A simple brown chalk grinded to a fine powder, few drops of water and a single drop of dish soap and brush it all on would suffice.
