Let me know what scheme you're doing Lyle - I can suggest some colours!

Honestly, I’m not sure. I’ll study on and give you a note.

It was close this morning.....about one deep breath from the hammer being applied. Well, not really, but close. This has to be the most ill-fitting kit I've messed with, over the Williams Bro and the Czech Models kits. Alignment pins don't, etc. Test / dry fitting doesn't help much as you cant really tell where it is off. At least I could not.

I got the wing halves together, barely. Don't think you should have to use Duck Tape to hold things in place! Now, I get to go around the seams and apply some CA.

:yikes:

That must be the first time ever I see duck tape used in a build!

a first for me, as well! It was pulling the Frog tape and letting the gaps open...I trimmed the "engines" to fit better, but I don't think they were meant to fit in the wing! :bored: This is on the wings, but the other assemblies has some of the same issues, too. I expected a lot more from this kit. A whole lot more.

:hmm: Sorry to hear you're having trouble with that old MB kit - I've never built one so I can't comment on the fit, although I'm surprised it's that bad. That being said, I have heard about the joy's of the intakes from others.

That and the way the molded it...the sprue attach points are a mm or two from the sprue tree. Some are right up against the part with clunky nubs left. I hate clunky nubs.

Morning, Lyle. Do you have a small travel steamer you could use to heat both sides of the plastic enough to close the join? Even now with clamp and duct tape still attached you can gently heat the wing from flaps forward to see if the issue with the leading edge may be improved. At the minimum you will clean the surface, but I think you may see a more positive result. Just keep doing passes with the steamer and heating the plastic as gently as possible...
