Re: 1/35 M4A3 76mm Project
This was my progress made at AMPS a couple of weeks ago. I got the gun tube sanded smooth, and backdated it to the early configuration without the muzzle cap thread protector. I also started adding many of the small fittings to the turret and hull.

Re: 1/35 M4A3 76mm Project
So, aside from nibbling away at this here and there at AMPS meetings where I did things like basic assembly such as adding the small parts to the rear hull

I also started painting on the interior of the turret and on the lower hull, I also started creating and adding detail for the turret interior such as creating the sighting scope for the main gun, as well as adding the co axial .30 cal. MG and associated ammo rack/can and coming up with the 2” smoke bomb launcher in the turret, as well as a radio from my spares parts

I also drilled out the hole for the smoke mortar in the turret.. the Italeri kit is based off a later turret that had the mortar hole blanked off

Lastly I used Milliput for the first time and filled in the hollow rear portions of the road wheels

and once that had dried and cured I painted that area in a dried mud color to look like road wheels do when packed full of dried mud…

more to come soon once I get more work done… since I’m leaving the turret hatches open, there is a lot to be seen when looking down into those hatches…

That is some lovely work!
To make each build less crappy than the last one. Or, put another way, "Better than the last one, not as good as the next one!"..

Very nice to see this being picked up again Carlos!

Lyle & Stuart, thank you. I’m just about ready to add the suspension to the lower hull. Gotta do a small bit more of painting first.

Re: 1/35 M4A3 76mm Project
Well, I guess that I neglected to add my last update on progress on this one. While I was working on the suspension for my Easy 8, I also added the suspension onto the hull of this M4A3 as well. I figures that I was using many of the same colors and weathering stuff, so why not?

and then over the past few days, I finished up adding the details onto the interior portions of the main gun. I glued the previously scratch built telescope sight and co-axial .30 cal. into place, as well as scratch building and adding an indirect fire elevation quadrant onto the main gun breech area

now I need to start working on side wall fittings such as the commander and loader seats, plus some other items... all in good time, no rush on this one.
