Thanks Bruce. Decals are taking a little longer than planned due to their age, related issues, and workarounds to deal with the issues… :headslap:

Yeah, with a lot of my work on older kits, I am really nervous these days working with decals.

This afternoon I finished up the markings. Most of the kit decals gave me problems so I used a lot of stuff from my spares supply, but even some of those gave me age related issues. I made the bumper codes from my old first line unit, 5th Infantry Division, 10th Infantry Regiment, which fought as part of Patton’s 3rd Army from the Normandy Breakout, across France, into the Bulge, across the Rhine (Patton snuck them across the Rhine ahead of Monty’s big crossing) and finally ending up in Czechoslovakia on VE Day.

Anyways, here is how it looks at this point

I also used some data plate/placard decals from my spares bin on the dash to give some more accurate look there.

Now I can start the final stages of getting this one wrapped up.

Man I'm loving that - what a great looking truck! It's looking excellent with all that stowage and decals. (note to self, get back to some 1/35).

I'm currently listening to part two of James Holland's 'The War in the west' on audible at the moment - and It's mainly been covering the War in North Africa and I'm currently in the middle of Operation Torch (The Germans have just reinforced Tunisia). Patton sounds a bit of a Dude and a really complex character, and I think I may have to learn a bit more about him. Anyone that was that devoted to his wife is okay in my book. I just listened to the bit where the French Navy and Shore batteries opened up on the invasion fleet just as Patton as embarking on his landing craft - he ALMOST lost his pistols in the sea along with most of his other kit. Apparently his aides breathed a HUGE sigh of relief when he managed to catch hold of them. Apparently there would have been hell to pay if he's lost them.

Torch was a really interesting operation, overshadowed I think by D-Day. At that point, History's biggest Sea-borne invasion, planned in 3 months by Allies new to working with each other - with the massive logistics train that went with it. Awesome stuff.

As a Brit is might surprise you to hear I'm not a huge fan of Monty - or at least my boat is still out on him. I think he was the right man at the right time in North Africa, to turn things around, but he still made some really poor decisions.

Sorry Stik, back to the Dodge - awesome stuff. :shoutout: :shoutout: :shoutout:

Awesome build, Carlos! :shoutout: :shoutout: :shoutout: :shoutout: :shoutout:

I have yet decided to pick up this AFV kit:

Not a bad price, too.
