Painted the X-47's main gray coat over the last two nights. I know it's not the correct shade...there was some confusion early on where an FS# mapped out to Model Master Neutral Gray, so I just assumed, NG is NG, and used Gunze C13 Neutral Gray for my initial work around the intake. Well...turns out I was wrong on that front and the FS# maps to some other Gunze color. Oh well...one of the benefits of building something on a lark.

I want the X-47 to have that "salted at sea" look, so I'm trying out a different painting approach, hoping to apply it to the Phantom and Intruder. Instead of being slavish to panel lines, etc, I did some very close, haphazard painting first, then went back over with thin top coats until everything was mostly, but not quite, blended.

Looks a bit like a star destroyer on the last pics.
I like the slightly diffuse paintwork.
