Those exhaust manifolds literally look to be made of cast metal. :wow:

Thanks guys.

Carlos:
I cleaned the manifolds up and black based them and then shot a THIN coat of Testors "Steel" Enamel over them. After that I dry brush them with a light coat of ground up black charcoal or pastel to give them the correct color and depth.

Wow Joe, did you fire it up afterward to see how well it ran? Man, I could swear that is a full sized engine. Joe, you have the Midas touch when it comes to these phenomenal models.

Good Gravy, Joe! That is simply exquisite work. I was looking over two of your aircraft builds earlier tonight... I could feel the same laser-focus on engine details within those projects as well; at least that is what hit home the hardest when I flip over to this new progress!!! Congrats, bud.

Thanks Mark, Bruce and Johnny.

Bruce:
I guess I've always been drawn to detail and it certainly helps when a builder has a background in the area that's being detailed. Of all things on auto or aircraft models for that matter it's the engine work that is my favorite part of building.

Completed the engine this morning fellas.
