Another beautiful build CL! How does the Revell Tornado build up? I have been eyeing those kits since they were released...

+ flap and slat down
+engine re-dust shealds in colsed and break position
+ best landing gear
+ GR.4 with normal tanks and hindenburg tanks (big)
but:
- terrible wheels
- pylon mechanism with 1mm pins for pylon
- extrem tricky mounding of fuselage side panels, lost most of the panellines with grinding
-airbreak box 1-2mm to long, problem with engine section
-airintake with big fit problems
- no sidewinder, GBU, laser pod, bombs..
-fitproblem on front cockpit window
it is a total diffent way of part style, with all the problems, some you can see on the instruction sheet if you are look sceptic

what are you looking for building a Tornadogood details with big fit problems =new Revell
easy fun build with ness details, more decal varability =Italeri/Heller
my tip: build both one time, there are so much color options you find 2 you like and see what is your favorit

I took a look at the instruction sheet for the Tornado, and oh boy, it's really a kit full of stuff!
Personally have never been really a fan of the Tornado, but that might change one day... :-)

CL, thank you for the assessment of this kit, and comparison to the Italeri kit. I have the Italeri kit in my stash along with an Airwaves PE detail set. As well as an Airfix ADV kit. I just saw all those features such as thrust reversers and such which really caught my eye. It’s a shame that the ordnance was shortchanged in the box. Not to mention the other drawbacks that you listed. I’ll keep my eye out for one on discount...

I've done a Tornado in my youth years as well - Hasegawa I believe. Not sure if I still have it or not. I need to take pics of whatever managed to survive the stash of built kits purge a few years ago. Quite a few were broken or damaged beyond repair from being stored for so long..
