Excellent work Lyle, and adding the canopy one half at a time is a stroke of genius. I did that on the C-46 as well. It was tricky, but you manage d to pull it off well. Keep it coming my man!

There isn't much going on. Still filling and sanding. Not heavy amounts of filler, but I seem to keep discovering divots. Sprayed some silver and will sand after it is good and dry.Discovered a gap at the base of the windscreen/fuselage join point. Oh well. Happy, happy.

I have hit the doldrums with this one and the last one as well...at this point. I think I am dreading getting the airbrush out. We have not been getting along. That and all the detail stuff, like engines, wheels, etc. The kit has behaved pretty well. I'll get over it by plugging away at it, bit by bit.
Thanks, Mark!

Just caught up with this Lyle - you're making really good progress! I'm really glad to hear it's going together well.

Thank you, Stuart!
Progress will be slowed a bit over the next days. We have to pick up our youngest grandson and get him to hid bus pickup for school..why is another story. So, we leave the house by 7:30, get him at 8, go to the baby sitters house ( she is on vacation now):
, sit until 9:30 of so and come home.
Since I do my “best” work in the morning,,,,

did a bit of piddlin' around on this one....rainy, stormy day. I love to listen to storms and rain....smells more gooder than me, too.
I am very, very nervous about the look for anodized aluminum. No clue as to when the paints will arrive. Last check, I don't think the orders have been processed. Anyway, I put a coat of the Duplicolor Gray down and using my trusty rattle can of silver, lightly put a coat or two over the gray...trying to not conceal it 100%. Rubbed it a bit with 0000 steel wool. Thoughts?
Gray primer only:
Silver overspray and buffed....it does need a bit more coverage, now that I see the pictures. Just got them back from the digital film lab. I am thinking that a flat coat with perhaps a drop or two of Tamiya Smoke or Flat Black may further the effect.

I like the buffed out area. That has a good weathered aluminum look. A flat clear coat with a few drops of smoke may be a perfect addition.
