Thanks Portman! Waiting for paint to arrive has given me OCD! The PE for the radiator struts is too small in my eyes, and it’s a major pain in the ass to install. Then the brake lines for the landing gear are too big in my opinion! So what to do? Well I stole the kit brake line to cut into struts for the wing radiator opening since it is close (but just a hair too big) and can be worked to work. Brake lines are made from copper wire and tamiya tape. Still a work in progress til I am satisfied.

Those landing gear struts and the detail that's on them is the cat's m-e-o-w right there Kevin!!! Awesome work man.

Thanks Joe! Didn’t go too crazy with the wing radiator openings. Note to self, fix these before installing them on the wings! The kit parts are too squared for the opening, needs just a little tweaking. The new strut looks better to me now. This is all a quick easy fix, the “cowling” for the radiator would be better fixed before installing. The strut is an easy install, I squared it off during the making it smooth and flush with the lower opening that I had to go back and round her off.

Gear and door have the RLM02 sprayed, needs detailing paint and should be good enough. Prop and spinner needs a gloss coat and some minor wash and weathering.

I couldn’t see anything else I needed to tweak before the big day tomorrow! Only thing left to do is to install the PE on the dust filter and then start laying color down. Should have the RLM78 and 79 at least and then save the RLM80 another day.

Little more prep work prior to laying down the final color, used some RLM76 to start the shading process. It is a close color to the RLM78 but lighter and less blue in it. Also found a boo boo in a couple spots so hade to clean them up and use the ol’ Rosie to fix up lost rivets. The 0.65mm Rosie the Riveter lines up perfectly with the Eduard 1/48 rivets on the 109 models so a little Tamiya tape help keep the straight. Til tomorrow gents and paint day!

Also if anyone has a spare PE part for the Trop filter they don’t want, I will gladly take it off your hands!
