I’m going to “try” to install it without taking the dashboard off. If unsuccessful, looks like I’m going to have to. Shouldn’t be too hard to do.

I’m surprised on how the decals laid down so well on the dashboard and steering wheel. The dials were done first then the wood panel decal went on last.

I was able to glue the CB to the dashboard... from the backside. I can see the notch where it’s suppose to go. :yipee:

That's all I'm going to do for now. I'm off on a family vacation to Vermont and Fort Ticonderoga. We leave Sunday and return on Wednesday night. This time will give the above parts a chance to cure completely before I move any further. I will check in on these forums from time to time - mostly at the hotel for the night.

The way the hood is resting, I have a funny feeling it’s going to fight me to get it to sit properly once installed.

Looks like you’ve got a good base coat to start working with Tom.

A friendly bit of info for you. If you foresee problems with the hood to body fit this is the best opportunity you’ll have to straighten it al out. Don’t wait till you’ve got a good gloss coat and then try to take care of it. You won’t like that outcome. Looking forward to seeing more from this build

Yeah, that thought did come to mind. If the issue is caused by the tabs on the hood, I may opt to snip them off. If there is a tight fit, I may have to sand the side edges. I won’t know until I get home and back on the bench to figure out what to do. Worse case scenario would be is to simply strip the paint off and start over.

This is what I suspected and afraid was the problem. The hood is warped. :headbang: :headbang: :headbang: :headbang:

Any ideas on how to solve this issue? I had thought about soaking the hood in hot water and putting some type of weight to reshape/straighten it out. Not sure if I should strip the paint before doing so or not. Thoughts and advice would be appreciated.
