Pfff, you're just an assembler, not a modeler anymore. :lashed:

After a busy work week, I could finally continue with the Phantom.

Nothing major, primed the aft wheel wells and "assembled" (thanks Torben) the wheel bay, or the spar as Tamiya calls it.

Despite the fact, that it looks complicated and asks for trouble with the fit, it all went together just like that.. as expected to be honest.

And here the spar in all its beauty, still in the prime color (MRP:s Fine Surface Primer Black, my absolute favorite primer.)

Tomorrow the paintwork starts and if everything goes well, some weathering also

Assembly is to “gather,” as well as a reference to putting components together; I do think that building is correct - although I understand the distinction Torben makes. The kit is superior in its components, engineering and ease of assembly, but it’s still up to the skills of the individual “maker” to determine the success or failure of the project itself. I actually looked up assembly to find out the etymology. I’m happy Kari is happy. I think at the end of the day - and it’s been a wet one for Germany and Belgium - a bit of “night work” with plastic pieces as brilliantly engineered as these is a wonderful way to learn, enjoy and scratch the need to create. Then again I think about things like this way too much. All the best, everyone. TGIF

I'm really enjoying this build and watching your process
March as one, Don't look back
Odin's sons... Attack!
Unleash hell! Do not repent! Warfare grants us no lament
Let your weapons slash and tear This is no place for fear
Hold the lines! Move as one! In unity our victory's won
Our shields will form a mighty wall
United we shall never fall

Don’t forget to put in the jar of Tamiya Extra Thin cement first. :giggles:
