Stuart, thanks for letting me know of this great modeler. he was indeed an amazing person and his work is magnificent. He's my kind of guy. I wonder what he would have thought about my collection of small scale armor and I winder if mine was anywhere close to the count of his collection. My condolences to his family and I am glad to have seen his work.

Keep going on that Abrams; it looks like one of mine. Great memories!

I've not made much progress this week, I'm in house buying hell, but hopefully I can get back to it on Sunday.

Not a very interesting photo, but I've assembled the Hull of the M1 (and the Challenger I've been working on), and primed it black - onto the Turrets now.

I made a start on the Turret today. I've still to do the stowage racks and the Commander's and Loader's MGs, but I've got the barrel and turret main parts together.





It's not a bad kit this for it's age, yes the fit is a bit poor (I have a 1mm gap at the front of the hull I have to fill) but the detail is quite good.

lol! there's no chance of that, I'm not man enough for short run kits!

It's worth remembering though Lyle that, asides form one tryout for NCO Aircrew, in the several attempts I had at trying to get into the forces as a teenager, I never once applied for the RAF - it was Army all the way. Two of the job routes I had picked were Royal Armoured Corps or as Tracker Vehicle Engineer in the REME. It's actually surprising I don't build more Tanks tbh - I'm not sure were the aircraft thing came from!

I've got a few more bits added to the turret. The fit of the stowage racks is interesting to say the least...
