Outside of a hammer, the hot water is probably the best bet.

Yep, hot water (around 70-80°C) and a rig to press it back in shape should work. If the paint is on for more than a few days it should survive the procedure. As for the jig: You got some LEGO bricks in your house?

Lego bricks got me intrigued. What jig did you make out of it.
Paint has been cured for a few days while I was away to Vermont.

Haven’t had the chance to get back on the bench.

Had an emergency in the cellar with the sewer backed up to my deep sink and onto the floor. Spent th3 better part of Monday night cleaning up the water. Thankfully, the water didn’t flood the whole cellar... just a small portion of it near the sink.
Had the plumber come over yesterday and ran a cable through the sewer lines. Should be okay for now.

I’ve had BMs that did that....talk about relief! Whew! Good to hear there was no major issues.
