Glad you’re on the mend, Stuart. Not something that’s an easy fix. Rest and heal.

Thanks Carlos - it took me a number of years before I knew what it was too - but it's pretty much cleared up now thanks. It's supposed to be a condition linked to high living and drinking lots of Port and Sherry, neither of which I do sadly!
Port and Sherry are extremely rare in my intake… :hmm: now high living can describe many indulgences  I do t think I have much risk for it by those guideposts at this point in my life

   You should be ok!

I've actually been suffering with it for about 10 years, maybe one attack a year. In the past I would be laid up for about three weeks with my foot swelled up, in constant pain and unable to walk much. Now that I finally know what it is, the pills from the doc's can get rid of it in a few days. It's actually caused by a build up of uric acid in the blood, which collects in a damaged joint in my right foot.

Thanks for the explanation Stuart! Glad to hear that there is an effective treatment for the condition, and that it works for you.

Where was I? Ah yes - painting. I've spent a lot of time this weekend getting stuck into the painting and assembling the wings etc.

I had a bit of an issue with the fit of the nose pod - basically the engine didn't fit into the cowlings...

But it's coming along - I took it all apart, sanded down the OD of the engine, reassembled and repainted - I still need to add a second coat of green and paint the exhaust. I think the collector ring needs a few touch ups as well. I might add a tad more filler on the stbd side.

Oh, and I also need to add a bit of paint to where the strut meets the spat.

Cheers!

Looking great now Stuart! :shoutout: :shoutout: Interesting as to how the fuselage has a wrap around camouflage scheme but not the wings or horizontal stabilizers… :hmm:

Thanks Carlos!

Yes it's a strange one isn't it, even more so when you consider it's a pre-war scheme as well. Still, it does look nice and different.

I slapped a coat of gloss on this last night, so hopefully I can get some decals on soon.
